Suze Overbeek

As long as I remember I have been a creative person; painting is enriching my life. It is part of my existence.

Suze Overbeek (1939, Tilburg) was educated a.o. at the “Kleine Academie”  in Bemmel and de “Lindenberg” in Nijmegen. Being active in a creative way is fundamental for her personality. Painting is her main passion. At first she made water-colours but during her training she got acquainted with other materials and techniques. Her present work is mainly acryllic painting on cloth. Colour is her starting point; after that form emerges. Apart from acryl, Suze uses paper, sand and textured paints, materials which form an interesting “skin” on the cloth and create a unique atmosphere.

She finds her inspiration in nature or in people who are near to her. The mixture of colours give her paintings a joyous touch.

In 1996 her name was honourably mentioned when 5000 paintings were evaluated for the national painters contest organized by “Talens Palet”.
